Stitching away

Last night got started on my Valentines card for hubby. It came as a free kit with a UK magazine and looks great (you can customize it all sorts of ways).

Can't wait to see the finished result!!!

Otherwise all is quiet...the best way to get stitching done.

Progress

Got all my basting done last night (and there was a lot to do).

Also, fixed the sides of the aida I plan to use for my V-Day card for hubby.

All ready to get the threads sorted and get stitching!!!

*WHEW*

Well, my friend went to the Dr. today and her due date was pushed back to Feb the 17th (induced on the 21st).

Poor thing, she is so big with this baby that she cried upon hearing the news, but I am so glad for the extra time...I sooo need it.

Back on Track

Well, just a few years later, and I am back to tackle my stitching and this blog!!!

I have started with my groups again, started gaining on my stash again and picked up some new hobbies!!!

Yep...that means more stash and more projects. I have taken up crochet and I'm trying to learn to knit as well. It's going well so far but it is hard to find the time with all my cross stitching!!!

My current projects are:

Cross stitch for February
Valentines day card for hubby
Special valentines pic with two teddies snuggling under an umbrella with hearts falling from the sky...also for hubby
I am doing a baby samler for a friend who is having her first baby (a boy) in late Feb
I'm also thinking of joining STO's SAL and exchange for Feb for which the theme is Celtic hearts (appropriate since I live in Ireland)

I know I am going to be doing a Mother's Day pic for my mom for May

I have also been wanting to do a bookmark for myself and after cutting fabric for my teddy picture, I have the perfect piece of fabric for it (14 ct aida in cream). Not sure how I'll work it but I'd like flowers and to use beads. Maybe I'll fry the edges and add a tassle.

I also have a Sleeping Beauty pic from DMC that I am doing for Niamh's room. It looks like it will take a while but it's really nice and will be perfect on her bedroom wall.

As far as crochet is concerned...my sister in law is expecting so I am thinking about doing a baby blanket for her, but I am wondering if I will have the time before June with all these other projects!!!!

Well, anyway, I am back and now I'd better go and get to work on my stitching!!!

Night Night All

It's time for me to get to sleep, curl up with a good book, read a page, and then give in to sleep! I'm not sure why I am so tired today, but I am.

Anyway, I have to up bright and early for tomorrow's new job and I need to be really well rested for that.

Good Morning, Sunday!!!

Niamh and I got out of bed really early today and I am so excited about the fun we have planned for today.

Today is picnic day!! A whole day at the park to run, jump and have fun with friends. The weather is supposed to be perfectly sunny and cool...perfect!

I'm not normally this chipper, especially this early in the morning, but I am excited to watch Niamh have fun.

I have to go and make a vegetable dish, and that means a run to the store. I also still have a lot of laundry to do, but that's o.k.

It's a nice feeling to have a fun and relaxed day in front of you, but it is especially nice to know the next few days beyond that will be much the same.

We'll take pictures at the picnic!

My "Incan" Zandy Cat

Well, I finally got a piece of work scanned in!! It's my "Incan" Zandy Cat teapot. It scanned a little dark, and it's a shame you can't see how pretty it really is. I'll try to rescan it sometime. What I really need is a digital camera! I plan to start scanning a lot more of my finished work soon, so everyone can see what I spend my free time on :-).

I've already started with my Hoosier's Pantry and have most of the apples done. I'll be working on it again today (while I relax out in the sun!). Now all I need is a nice sun chair to lie on while I work.
